Software Description

You can use the computer keyboard to play MIDI notes, or click on the keys with the mouse. There is also an option to select a MIDI source and see incoming notes played on the keyboard.

The keys 'z' through ',' is the octave starting a middle C (note 60). The keys on the row above are flats, and the octave below is on the row starting with 'q' (and the digit row is that octave's flats).

In order to hear a sound when you press keys, you need to connect the MidiKeys output to a synthesizer of some sort. This can be either a softsynth like SimpleSynth or a hardware synth connected through a MIDI I/O box. MidiKeys has no way to produce sound on its own.

Four Ways To Transfer Your LimeWire Tunes To iTunes

You need to drag or copy your music files from the shared folder in Limewire to a separate folder in my music or wherever you store your music and then go into ITunes and click on File then add folder/file to library.
First, download the music from Limewire (save to a directory). If you are setup correctly with iTunes, you should be to able double click the song downloaded and it automatically should play using iTunes. The music is also stored in the iTune's library. Once it is there, you can create folders within iTunes and drag/drop from the library into the new folder.
Easiest way is to go to Limewire -> Preferences -> iTunes -> Importing -> Enable iTunes Importing
Yet another way which is very easy is to first have both the Limewire and Itunes Windows open. Simply select the downloaded song or songs (Hold Ctrl and click on each song for multiple songs) in limewire, left-click and hold and drag your cursor over the minimized itunes window at the bottom (Don't release button yet!). When ituens opens take your cursor over your Library or any playlist and then release the click. The songs should then drop into that library or playlist.

Software Description

CDex can extract the data directly from an Audio CD, which is generally called an Audio CD Ripper or a CDDA utility. Of course you can do that also by recording through your sound-card.

However, recording by sampling the signal with your sound card implies that the signal is first has to be converted to an analog signal by the CD-ROM, which is fed into the sound-card and digitized by the sound-card.

In practically all situation the quality of the recording will be deteriorated (unless you have a CD-ROM that has a digital output of course). CDex on the other hand, is reading the digital audio data directly from the disc, which can be stored in either a WAV file or a MPEG (MP2 or MP3) sound file.

You can now insert time instants, time values, and notes using a MIDI device during playback. If a time value or note layer is current it will be used for insertion (giving a value equal to the pitch class, or the played note, respectively); otherwise an existing or new time instants layer will be used just as it is when inserting instants using the PC keyboard. Using a MIDI device should give better timing than using the PC keyboard.
There is a new Activity Log window with a (purely informative) list of events and user interactions that happen while SV is running.
The spectrogram has somewhat improved graphical scaling, and this is now the default (being much faster than the 4x oversampled method). The previous default is still available as a preference.
Visualisation of very dense colour plots (such as spectrograms calculated by plugins) is substantially faster in this release.
